Car insurance (also called statutory liability insurance) is compulsory insurance in the Czech Republic. It must be taken out by the vehicle operator for all vehicles that exceed a speed of 25 km/h, or have a weight of more than 25 kg and a speed over 14 km/h, when operated on public roads.
This insurance covers any damage your vehicle causes to third parties, with minimum limits of CZK 50 million per injured person for bodily injury or death, and CZK 50 million in total for property damage. The coverage includes:

- damage to property, including costs of caring for injured animals,
- loss of profit,
- legal representation costs.
